Lot’s happening in the disc golf world! I’ve taken some time off from this blog and so let’s catch up.
The Lincoln area had and Ice Bowl in January, Winter Wizards putter tournament in February, and in March was the Thaw Out the Throwers with 26 players braving the cold for a C tier. Also the Shammrock Showdown Doubles and St Patty’s Day mini. In April was the Blooming Beast C tier. The Star City Shoot-out was in May along with the Quick Draw Mini and High Noon Doubles, and remember the Memorial Day Triples too. There was also the putter league at Blue Blood Brewing in the winter months, and of course winter league at Tierra Park on Sunday afternoons.
Disc Gauntlet is a disc golf startup with Ben Langley and Jake Hedden at the helm. They have been hosting C tier tournaments, mostly in southeast Nebraska. Locations have included Lincoln, Maryville (MO), Beatrice, Falls City, and York. Everything has not gone perfectly every time, but these guys are dedicated, good listeners, and adapting well to TD life. Looking forward to more events on the schedule from Disc Gauntlet.
Omaha had a lot of events so far this year. There’s the Ice Bowl along with the Iron Man Doubles in Blair, Lake Cunningham, and Seymour Smith Park. The Spring Fever Fling filled with 90 players in April. Then in June was the Tour de Omaha.
Other communities with events include: Hastings, Norfolk, McCook, Ashland, Burwell, Ord and Loup City.
To find out what else is happening be sure to use the nebdisc calendar. It is updated weekly.
